Qualcuno che aveva beneficiato di un pre-pre-ascolto si era lasciato
sfuggire che questa canzone riprendesse lo stile della Seeger session, ma in
realtà non ha nulla a che vedere con quello stile. C'è, piuttosto, qualcosa
di Magic.
Ma Outlaw Pete è stupenda, anzi favolosa. La storia si inserisce nella
tradizione americo-springsteeniana: riprende un po' The river e un bel po'
Johnny 99.
L'arrangiamento è azzecatissimo, l'atmosfera che crea è quella giusta.
Un'atmosfera da film!
Del resto non può non sfuggire il richiamo a Morricone e ai film di Leone
della campana e del giro di armonica, e quel "Can you hear me?" fa troppo
